I had to read this piece twice, and pinch myself, to make sure this isn’t a hallucination, but an article in Consortium News. It’s not satiric, but a deadly serious lament as to the vanished mass ferment of 2010.

What about the “global uprisings” last year—a year that FAIR looked back on, last December, as “the year of the protest”? The year that saw the Yellow Vests, and mass protests in Lebanon, Gaza, Chile, Haiti, Ecuador, and elsewhere all over Latin America (the continent rocked by an unprecedented wave of feminist protests in particular)? There also was the Bernie movement here. All those protests were blacked out or played down by “our free press,” which focused only on Hong Kong (as FAIR rightly noted) and Greta’s multitudes (as FAIR, believing in their righteousness, did not observe).

So what happened to all those “uprisings”? Three guesses. And—still more important—what about the massive protests going on right now? 250 million Indian farmers and workers—the biggest protest in the history of the planet—and huge outpourings in the streets of the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark and elsewhere? According to Vishay Prashad (who evidently slept through that gigantic and protracted demo in his own country a few weeks ago), those “uprisings” either aren’t uprisings, or don’t meet with his approval. 

That he would disapprove of those uprisings—and that Consortium News would feature his myopic article—is, sadly, no surprise, inasmuch as that once-great outlet ran a piece last April, by the UN Secretary-General, dismissing concerns about vaccine safety and the lockdowns’ dangerous consequences—including heightened mass surveillance—as “conspiracy theory.” That capitulation by Consortium News is all too typical of the “left” press today, which maintains its tight, now-dated focus on neoliberal economics, Western foreign policy, the non-progressive make-up of the incoming Biden apparat, the threat posed by “the right,” etc. (the same old same old that we get from Chomsky, Amy Goodman, Naomi Klein, Caitlin Johnstone, Chris Hedges and so many others), as if 2020 were 2010, or 2019, and not this unprecedented, “COVID-related” Year from Hell, which calls on all of us who really are progressive—that is, who love humanity, and believe profoundly in democracy—to face up to what’s really happening all around us, ask why, and tell it like it is, and so help stop it.

So there was no such thing as herd immunity prior to the discovery of vaccines? And all those pandemics that have ended without vaccinations ended how? 

This is beyond alarming. 

NOT a “conspiracy theory” (though Justin Trudeau, among others who support it, called it one), but a well-established plan explaining everything that’s happening around us, and throughout the world.

Don’t say we haven’t warned you; and please do NOT accept it. 

Who knew that Bill Binney is a white supremacist?

Greece will start inoculating health care workers starting December 27.  It’s pretty well known that whoever refuses loses their job and becomes black listed. That is not said anywhere, but that’s what we all know to be true, and the article I linked to intimates in the end paragraphs health care workers best not refuse the vaccine. 

Greece, a country of 11 million, will give the Pfizer vaccine free.  For now, the government is not saying that it is mandatory, but we are expecting the privacy claim of “no mandates” to be a façade because we likely won’t be able to enter anywhere public without proof of the vax, just the way they require proof from Greeks and foreigners that you took the Covid test 72 hours before entering Greece.

Starting December 21, there will be randomized testing throughout Greece, in neighborhoods everywhere. 

My partner, who is 70, told me that the plan is for those over 65 to receive a phone call and be told when to come in for the shot.   We don’t know what will happen because my partner is absolutely against vaccines. 

Our second lockdown started November 6 and was supposed to end November 30, but on December 1 it immediately got extended to January 7.

Unless you are an essential worker, if you want to go out of your home you must send the government a request by SMS and wait for them to text back permission to leave. If you don’t use a phone (which I never do) you can fill out a piece of paper called Extraordinary Movement Permit which you must carry with your ID. See attached.  It shows the 6 grounds on which you may leave your home, one of which is to exercise, although no group exercise allowed and only two people at a time can walk or run together, safely apart of course. 

The other day a man on the island of Lemnos got fined because during his daily walk he was not wearing athletic clothes.   Last March I was out on my daily walk along the sea and stopped to rest on a bench – I was fined 300 euros for not exercising.   

There’s a 5am to 10 pm curfew, and just the other day the curfew In west attica has been restricted further to 6 pm. Churches cannot congregate, and at least one priest has been arrested. For Christmas 25 people max allowed in standard churches and private gatherings of 9 people per 2 families.

We cannot travel from one region to the next nor from one municipality to the next. 

I know of no lawsuits in Greece challenging any of these diktats.  And of course there are no protest rallies because you’ll be fined.  To add insult to injury the government is urging everyone not to use internet from 9am to 6pm . 

As in the US, the leaders are liars and cheaters.  Prime Minister Mitsotakis was caught riding his bike up Mt. Parnitha without a mask, not social distancing and out of his region, and later his wife was caught escorting Dior House around the Peloponnese

If anyone on this list has somehow managed not to see the video of her collapse, it’s included in this Sun article (which notes the surge of “conspiracy theories” vis-a-vis the story, as if it’s an insane speculation that Nurse Dover might be gravely ill, or dead.)
