We hear that our bill to give all voters the choice between a hand-marked paper ballot and a ballot-marker is moving in the NY legislature (A1115C / S309B). Things are very unpredictable there now & it’s critical to keep the pressure on.The bill is on the NY Senate Floor Calendar and was featured in a high-profile NY political publication. Could you please make a few calls today?

It will take 5 minutes. If you live outside of NY state, please say that you are counting on New York to be a leader in elections, so your state can follow. Please also forward to your networks asap!

Tuesday May 31 please make 3 calls: Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie518-455-3791Assembly Member Latrice Walker Election Law Chair518-455-4466NY Governor Kathy Hochul518-474-8390 (Select 3, 1 to leave a quick message.)

What do I say?“Time is running out. Pass A1115C today.”

(You are welcome to expand. As an advocate, you can explain that:
both hand-marked paper ballots & ballot markers are essential for security & accessibilitybarcodes do not allow you to verify who you voted forthe bill is urgent, because voting machines that count votes with barcodes and do not have hand-marked options are in the process of being approved

Say what is comfortable for you. Thank you!
