That’s over four times as many deaths as those (allegedly) caused by the coronavirus: 45,318, as of today; and, of course, if we subtract all those who died with the coronavirus, not of it, as well as those deceased only “presumed” to have had it at all, the toll of those killed by the lockdown is more shocking still, requiring that its advocates—and those who’ve funded them—be held accountable.

True believers in the use of masks against COVID-19 have pointed to Hong Kong to “prove” their case. For example: https://www.contagionlive.com/news/hong-kong-masks-independently-significant-coronavirus-intervention
In a press release, Sunny Wong, MD, associate professor, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, noted the particular success of Hong Kong in the pandemic despite many social distancing measures being voluntary.
“Despite [Hong Kong’s] proximity to mainland China, its infection rate of COVID-19 is generally modest with on 1,110 cases to-date. This correlates with an almost ubiquitous use of face masks in the city (up to 98.8 percent by respondents in a survey). Similar patterns are seen in other Asian areas, such as Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia,” Wong said.
Though “use of face masks” has indeed been “almost ubiquitous” in Hong Kong, it evidently has not stopped the spread of COVID-19, according to the South China Morning Post.

It gives me no pleasure to repeat what all the randomized controlled tests tell us: that masks and respirators don’t prevent transmission of respiratory viruses. To keep insisting that they do, just because the CDC (now) says so, is irresponsible, to say the least.
A new study from Germany identifies a higher COVID mortality risk for those with low selenium levels.
5. Conclusions COVID-19 constitutes a universal threat to human health, necessitating fast, promising, and safe measures for reducing infection risk, suppressing virulence development, strengthening the immune system, and supporting recovery. The essential trace element Se may be most relevant for these issues. Subjects residing in areas with poor baseline Se supply or on restricted nutrition, and COVID patients with pre-existing comorbidities or long disease course are at particularly elevated risk for severe Se deficiency, and may profit from improving the Se supply by dietary or supplemental measures. The observed association of mortality risk with Se deficit and the likely underlying feed-forward mechanism argues for initiating intervention studies under the highest quality standards, in order not to miss a universally available, inexpensive, and safe preventive measure and adjuvant treatment option.

From Matthew Witt:
Hi Mark – Google congratulates me for successfully unsubscribing NFU. Thing is, I didn’t.
