Business leaders who reject woke culture to be “first people lined up against the wall and shot in revolution,” tweets former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo

Remember—or learn—that Wall Street and the British elite strongly backed the Bolsheviks, for several reasons, including an affinity for tight topdown control of the economy.

Whether or not that history relates to this multimillionaire’s faux-Jacobin ferocity (Costolo is worth $300 million), he certainly is not concerned about the grotesque income inequality in the US: on the contrary. His bloodthirsty tweet is all about intensifying division, and imposing “woke” totalitarian control for corporate purposes.

The Bolsheviks were not the Russian Revolution. They usurped it. The real revolution was between the Czar’s overthrow in March 1917 and the Bolshevik takeover of the state in November 1917, power was increasingly devolving to local councils (“soviets” in Russian) and factory committees. This work by British libertarian socialist Maurice Brinton, 1970, has ample citations from historical documents.
