CDC update, followed by an Oceanic wave of “fact-checking,” is a replay of what happened in Italy three months ago

Lest we forget, or didn’t know:

In Italy, back in late May, there was—as there is now—an off-script observation on the actual COVID-19 death rate, followed by some corrective “fact-checking.”

Then as now, the “fact-checking” was beside the point, which was (and is) that, whatever the actual number of those killed by COVID-19, the advanced age and serious comorbidities of the deceased meant that the catastrophic national lockdown was completely groundless. Those vulnerable populations, and they alone, should have been quarantined.

An example of the “fact-checking” back then: https://fullfact.org/health/sgarbi-coronavirus/
