Biden orders federal workers, contractors to get vaccinated or submit to testing | 29 July 2021 | Joe Biden on Thursday is directing all federal employees and onsite contractors to show that they are vaccinated or otherwise submit to regular coronavirus testing, a major step that will likely cause other private sector businesses to follow suit. Biden is also instructing his administration to apply similar standards to all federal government contractors. The White House is also encouraging private sector employers to follow his lead. “If you want to do business with the fed government, get your workers vaccinated,” Biden said in remarks from the White House Thursday afternoon… According to the White House, the federal government will ask employees and onsite contractors to attest to their vaccination status. Those who do not show that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will need to mask, socially distance and submit to weekly or twice weekly coronavirus testing. Biden also said that workers who are not vaccinated “generally will not be allowed to travel for work.”
Speaker directs Capitol Police to arrest staff, visitors and report lawmakers who refuse to wear masks | 29 July 2021 | U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) were ordered to arrest visitors and staff who refuse to wear a mask on the House side of the Capitol complex, according to a police memo issued by new USCP Chief Thomas Manger that was obtained by a member of Congress. Police were also advised not to arrest members of Congress for failing to wear masks but to report the lawmakers’ noncompliance to the House sergeant-at-arms, the memo says. House members have been subjected to fines starting at 500 for skirting mask rules. Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., got a copy of the memo distributed at Thursday’s morning roll call from an unnamed police officer, she told Fox News. Police she’s spoken to are “very uncomfortable” with this new directive that Cammack describes as “tyrannical.”
Capitol Police to arrest House staff who break Pelosi’s mask mandate | 29 July 2021 | US Capitol Police officers will arrest visitors and staff members who refuse to comply with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s renewed COVID-19 mask mandate — heightening tensions with Republicans who call the mandate an unscientific power trip. Police won’t arrest lawmakers or people on the Senate side of the Capitol, where masks are voluntary. A bulletin for police says, “If a visitor or staff member fails to wear a mask after a request is made to do so, the visitor or staff shall be denied entry to the House Office Buildings or House-side of the U.S. Capitol. Any person who fails to either comply or leave the premises after being asked to do so would be subject to an arrest for Unlawful Entry.” Members of Congress and aides accompanying them who break the new rule won’t be arrested, but will be reported to House leaders, who will dock their pay with 500 fines. The Constitution says members of Congress are “privileged from Arrest” in most cases at the Capitol.
CDC director says European-style health passes ‘may very well be a path forward’ in US | 28 July 2021 | European-style health passes for admission to public venues “may very well be a path forward” in the United States, said Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky. France passed a law Monday requiring health passes to enter restaurants, bars, and other public venues. To receive a health pass, people must prove that they are fully vaccinated, recently tested negative for the virus, or recently recovered from the virus. “They’re issuing health passes there [in Europe]…if you have a health pass,” a host told Walensky during a Wednesday morning interview. “Is that something that the CDC would ever lean in to, or perhaps advise here?” “You know, I think some communities are doing that, and that may very well be a path forward,” Walensky responded.
New York COVID-19 vaccine mandates for government workers facing growing union backlash –One New York union says it is considering its legal options to fight the state’s decision | 28 July 2021 | Public employee unions in New York are pushing back against newly-announced dictates requiring workers to get vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit to regular testing for the virus. FDNY EMS Local 2507 President Oren Barzilay blasted the mayor’s decision following the news, saying his union — which represents the city’s 4,300 EMS workers — took them by surprise with the move. “The city and the mayor cannot simply disregard the civil liberties of the workforce,” he told The Associated Press. “The unions are really, really aggravated that the mayor sprung this on everybody,” sanitation workers’ union President Harry Nespoli told The New York Times. On Wednesday, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced there would be a requirement for vaccination or testing for public employees at the state level, too.
Postal workers union bristles at Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate | 28 July 2021 | The influential American Postal Workers Union on Wednesday said, at this point, it opposes a coronavirus vaccine mandate from the Biden administration but encouraged workers to voluntarily take the jabs. “While the APWU leadership continues to encourage postal workers to voluntarily get vaccinated, it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent,” the union said in a statement obtained by Fox News. The union said in the statement that the safety of its workers is “of paramount importance” but “at this time the APWU opposes the mandating of COVID-19 vaccinations.”
Facebook requiring vaccines for US workers returning to office | 28 July 2021 | Facebook said that the social media giant will require all its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they return to the office, as more firms set the same requirement amid the persistence of the virus. “As our offices reopen, we will be requiring anyone coming to work at any of our US campuses to be vaccinated,” Facebook VP of People Lori Goler said in a statement. Facebook’s announcement came just hours after fellow Big Tech firm Google announced it would be requiring its employees to get the jab before they return to a Google campus.
Google delays return to office, mandates vaccines –Decision also affects tens of thousands of contractors | 28 July 2021 | Google is postponing a return to the office for most workers until mid-October and rolling out a policy that will eventually require everyone to be vaccinated once its sprawling campuses are fully reopened. The announcement Wednesday… In an email sent to Google’s more than 130,000 employees worldwide, CEO Sundar Pichai said the company is now aiming to have most of its workforce back to its offices beginning Oct. 18 instead of its previous target date of Sept. 1.
Vaccinated individuals who become infected with Covid have just as much viral load as the unvaccinated – CDC director | 28 July 2021 | The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance on Tuesday recommending indoor mask use in areas with high transmission rates after new data suggested fully vaccinated individuals are not just contracting Covid-19 but could potentially infect others. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said recent studies had shown that those vaccinated individuals who do become infected with Covid have just as much viral load as the unvaccinated, making it possible for them to spread the virus to others. Based on that finding, Walensky said the CDC is also recommending that all school children wear masks in the fall. “We’re seeing now that it’s actually possible if you’re a rare [sic] breakthrough infection that you can transmit further, which is the reason for the change,” Walensky said.
CDC New Mask Guidance Based on ‘Vaccine Not Approved in America’ – GOP Leader | 29 July 2021 | House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) noted that the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) recent mask guidance update is based on a study that evaluated the efficacy of a COVID-19 vaccine that is “not approved in America.” “I just left speaking with Dr. Monahan from the House. He said he used the CDC recommendation on a report that hasn’t been printed yet,” McCarthy said on the House floor, referring to Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the attending physician of Congress. “He did not know that the report is based upon India, about a vaccine that’s not approved in America, and now he did not know that it didn’t even pass peer-review,” the GOP leader said, referring to a CDC study published July 27.

Whistleblowers: Biden admin told migrant facility workers to bury raging outbreak at Fort Bliss | 28 July 2021 | Two federal whistleblowers are alleging that Department of Health and Human Services instructed them to downplay a coronavirus outbreak amongst migrant children being housed at a facility in Fort Bliss, Texas, earlier this year, according to a complaint filed Wednesday. The complaint, which was sent to four Congressional committees and government watchdogs, was filed by the nonprofit Government Accountability Project on behalf of Arthur Pearlstein and Lauren Reinhold – who they say are “career federal civil servants” and “whistleblowers” who “served as volunteer detailees at the Fort Bliss Emergency Intake Site from April through June 2021.” “COVID was widespread among children and eventually spread to many employees. Hundreds of children contracted COVID in the overcrowded conditions,” the complaint says.
South Texas Police Department Issues Public Health Announcement After COVID-Stricken Migrants Seen ‘Coughing, Sneezing’ at Whataburger | July 28, 2021 | (Hidalgo County, TX) The La Joya Police Department issued a public health announcement after an officer approached an undocumented migrant family at Whataburger who told him Border Patrol released them because they had COVID-19. On July 26 the police department of the small town along the Rio Grande and Mexican border shared details of the incident. They said a concerned citizen at the restaurant waved down the officer. The citizen told him about the family “coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths and not wearing face masks.” Whataburger management also told the officer that they wanted the group to leave as well due to “their disregard to other people’s health.” In addition to telling the officer that Border Patrol had released them days prior due to their coronavirus status, the family said a charity group had paid for their room at the nearby Texas Inn Hotel. The officer followed up on that information, finding out that Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley had booked all the rooms in the hotel to house undocumented immigrants detained by Border Patrol. He saw a group of 20 to 30 people staying at the hotel who were “out and about.”
NYT reporter suggests declaring Trump supporters ‘enemies of the state’ to combat ‘national security threats’ | 27 July 2021 | New York Times reporter Katie Benner suggested on Tuesday that in order to tackle America’s current national security “dilemma,” Trump supporters should be considered “enemies of the state.” As the first hearing of the Jan. 6 committee was underway on Capitol Hill, Benner took to Twitter to stress that it “underscores” what she indicated was the ongoing threat within the U.S. “Today’s #January6thSelectCommittee underscores the America’s current, essential natsec dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a politician’s supporters enemies of the state,” Benner wrote in now-deleted tweets.
‘Can’t spend halftime in opponent’s locker room’: GOP push to oust Cheney, Kinzinger | 27 July2021 | Florida congressman to introduce transparency bill targeting Biden family members Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs introduced a resolution aimed at removing Republican Reps. [deep-state neocons] Liz Cheney, of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger, of Illinois, from the House GOP conference Tuesday morning, two lawmakers confirmed to The Post. Biggs (R-Ariz.) pointed to Cheney and Kinzinger’s decision to accept Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) invitation to sit on the Jan. 6 select committee, which a sizable number of GOP lawmakers have alleged is politically motivated and skewed in Democrats’ favor. Kinzinger and Cheney’s decision to buck party lines and serve on the panel has been met with sharp backlash from a number of their colleagues, with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) going as far as referring to them as “Pelosi Republicans.”
Twitter Suspends All Election Audit ‘War Room’ Accounts | 28 July 2021 | Earlier today, Twitter permanently suspended all nine of the official ‘Audit War Room’ accounts from its platform. The accounts were a main source for breaking updates and were banned as part of big tech’s continued attempt to shield the public from the stunning revelations being found regarding the fraudulent 2020 election. Twitter provided no reason for the suspensions. The ban was issued just weeks before Arizona’s final audit report is set to come out and as multiple states are getting ready to start audits of their own.
228 Republican lawmakers urge Supreme Court to overrule Roe v. Wade | 29 July 2021 | Scores of congressional Republicans on Thursday urged the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade next term when the justices review a restrictive Mississippi abortion law. The GOP lawmakers, 44 senators and 184 House members, argued in an amicus brief that the landmark 1973 decision in Roe and related rulings represent “a vise grip on abortion politics.” “Congress and the States have shown that they are ready and able to address the issue in ways that reflect Americans’ varying viewpoints and are grounded in the science of fetal development and maternal health,” wrote the lawmakers, who represent 40 states.
