It’s now official policy that COVID-19 be recorded as the cause of death even when it’s just “assumed” to be, or “assumed” to have “CONTRIBUTED to death”

In accordance with this government directive of March 24 (attached), death certificates note COVID-19 as the cause even when it’s just “assumed to have caused or contributed to death.” (Scroll down to the bolded clause toward the end.)

Thus, as the CIA charges that the Chinese government is lowballing that country’s infection rate, the US government has called for overstatement of the mortality rate here.

So those NYTimes obits “reporting” that coronavirus was the cause of death are largely based on rough guesswork, dictated by the state.
