Are Indonesia’s floods related to Australia’s fires?

From John Kirby:
I need to check the prevailing wind and weather pattern, but Indonesia’s floods may be directly connected to Australia’s fires: they may be raining out the clouds so that they don’t hit fires

A few minutes later:
Oddly there is no wind or precipitation data over the main island of Indonesia itself; the maps just show the wind patterns around it.  But subject to further investigation, I would say that a preliminary look confirms the supposition:  any precipitation that might reach Australia is being dumped on Indonesia.  The wind patterns below* show Indonesia up-weather from Australia.
