Johns Hopkins teaches dissidents a lesson: 7 arrested after cops raid sit-in protesting JHU’s ICE contracts and new private police force

Here's a story I would never have expected to read about Johns Hopkins—where I got my PhD(in English) back in '77, then taught there (in the Writing Seminars) from 1982-97.

It's not that Hopkins ever was, in any way, receptive to dissent. (They're linked tightly to the CIA and Pentagon.) It's just that they were not explicitly authoritarian, as they appear to have become.
