“The Christianist Infiltration of America’s Public Schools” GREAT EVENT IN NYC ON 2/7!

“First Tuesdays,” the monthly series of political book talks at McNally Jackson, has been expanded into “New from Underground,” a monthly series of great panels, each featuring several authors in discussion of some topic that has largely been ignored and/or misrepresented, despite its grave importance (or because of it).

I’m delighted to announce that Truthout is co-sponsoring this series (which is, of course, named after this news service).

We kick off the series this Tuesday, Feb. 7, with a great line-up of authors who will talk about the Christianist infiltration of America’s public schools. The occasion for this panel is the publication of The Good News Club by my friend Katherine Silberger Stewart, who’ll be joined by luminaries Jeff Sharlet, Frank Schaeffer and Jonathan Zimmerman.

I hope to see you there.
