New student IDs for voting could cost UW-Madison $700,000 every two years

Starting with the Feb. 21 spring primary, voters who are already registered at their current address will be required to present one of the following acceptable photo IDs:

• Wisconsin driver’s license.
• State ID.
• ID issued by an accredited Wisconsin university or college. ID must contain an issuance date, student signature and an expiration date within two years of issuance. Students showing college IDs also need to show proof of enrollment, such as a tuition receipt or letter from the university.
• Military ID.
• Passport.
• Naturalization papers.
• Tribal ID.
