CNN’s Factcheck Failure on Occupy Wall Street

Former CNBC reporter Erin Burnett’s CNN show OutFront debuted Monday night (10/3/11) with a failed attempt to factcheck the Occupy Wall Street protests.

The show kicked off with Burnett explaining that she

went to Wall Street today to see those protests for myself. I saw dancing, bongo drums, even a clown…. I asked several protesters what it was that they wanted. Now, they did not know…. They did know what they don’t want.

Burnett added that “it seems like people want a messiah leader, just like they did when they anointed Barack Obama.”

7 Comments to “CNN should fact-check Erin Burnett’s “reporting”—or just get rid of her, as she’s a Wall Street propagandist, not a journalist”

  • Sickening. At this point, it’s just a race to the bottom in terms of media integrity in the Fox-ification of our corporate media.
To MCM- I really enjoyed the First Tuesday meet-up at McNally Jackson last night. Chris is quite a funny, and quirky character, and have already found what I’ve read in his book to be spot on and very entertaining. Thanks again.

  • With so very many proven, professional journalists to choose from, many of whom are just as good looking EB, if not more so, how did this relatively recent college graduate whose primary work experience is having just spent two years as an entry level, investment banker get this CNN anchor job?!? Unbelievable and a serious insult to CNN viewers. Then again, we all see that NYC investment bankers live in a very different world than the rest us.

  • Get rid of Erin Burnett. She is a lack luster phoney journalist. She knows what happed to Mark Haines and is partaially responsible for his death. I know from a reliable source. That is why they didn’t publish his cause of death. She is an opportunist and phoney believe me. No talent just good looks. Too bad CNN coulddn’t find someone smart. She is egotistical and the worst choice possible. If you think Cambell Brown was bad think again.

  • Erin Burnett is engaged to CitiGroup CEO David Rubulotta and, also, worked for CitiGroup (CitiMedia). Just like when O’bama hired former Goldman-Sucks Timothy Geithner for Secretary of Treasurey. Socialism, anyone? By default, she has a biased opinion whenever CNN engages in discussions on monetary issues.

This is what Erin and her future husband are trying to help put out of your minds:

Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution: “No State shall […] make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender of Payment of Debts; ”

If 300,000 Americans bought $40 worth of physical silver tomorrow, we could put banks like JPMorgan (Chase) and Citigroup out on their a$$. Look how much the 2 are invested in silver “futures.” We could take back this country one bank at a time, starting with the FEDeral Reserve.

From one Veteran to a pseudo-journalist: stop destroying the Country that I love and fought for.

    Veterans for Ron Paul

  • One correction, David Rubulotta is not the CEO of CitiGroup. He is executive of “High-Yield Investments.”

  • Drop her like a hot potato. She’s worthless….She’s going to drag
CNN the rest of the way down…..
