Al Gore urges Obama to block Keystone XL pipeline

Former Vice President Al Gore is publicly urging President Obama to deny a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, arguing that the increased greenhouse gas production from the use of tar sands oil will only make the planet’s climate problems worse.

On his blog, Gore says:

The leaders of the top environmental groups in the country, the Republican Governor of Nebraska, and millions of people around the country—including hundreds of people who have bravely participated in civil disobedience at the White House—all agree on one thing: President Obama should block a planned pipeline from the tar sands of Alberta to the Gulf of Mexico.

  1. this is the single biggest energy project of obama’s administration. it is TRULY MASSIVE in scale.

    forget fracking or all the other balogna. forget silly global warming alarmism policies.

    there is so much noise and signal to noise ratio on energy policy is very low.

    there is a discrete signal.

    tens of billions of dollars, multi-decade , project that will import tremendous amounts of petroleum at great , truly massive, profit to big oil and big oil serivicing giants. and it’s very environmentally destructive to canada. and thus to the u.s. since their ecosystem destruction affects ours. —we are basically in the same eco system of the northameria—

    very sad. obamas’ biggest betrayal by far. the only redeeming act was following through on limiting coal plant activity.
