First Tuesday Political Series: County
07/12/2011 7:00 pm

David Ansell has a lot to say about the state of US healthcare, its apartheid structure, and the desperate need for single-payer health insurance.

He’ll be at the McNally Jackson Bookstore, 52 Prince St. (b/t Lafayette & Mulberry) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 7/12, to talk about it, and sign copies of his great book.

MCM

David Ansell is a prominent Chicago physician, and his new book documents deplorable working conditions and the indignities patients experienced at County Hospital. Barbara Ehrenreich says County is a “classic of battlefield medicine, full of guts and blood and passion.”

Message from Mark: "I am a one-man operation, although assisted greatly by some volunteers, and, now and then, by people paid by others for one-time projects. There is no shortage of skilled, dedicated folks out there who want to help me. There is, however, nothing I can pay them with, unless you decide you can contribute something."
