Subject: Confirmed: Gov. Cuomo to lift New York fracking ban. Take action!
To: Mark Crispin Miller

Dear Mark,

A quick update on what’s happened since yesterday afternoon:

Just a few hours after denying the New York Time’s report as “baseless speculation,” Gov. Cuomo’s Department of Environmental Conservation released their recommendations, which confirmed the Times reporting and called for 85% of New York State to be open to fracking. The DEC is formally issuing those recommendations today, as New York’s fracking ban expires.

There’s been a giant outcry in New York — more than 13,000 signatures on our petition to Governor Cuomo since yesterday afternoon. He is no doubt banking on this story quieting down over the holiday weekend. Let’s not let that happen.

Right now, we need to raise massive pressure on the Governor to reject these recommendations and preserve New York’s state-wide fracking ban. Read more below, and please sign the petition to Governor Cuomo. Then share widely with your fellow New Yorkers.
