Lorraine Minnite will be joining us at 7:00 p.m. on April 5, for this month’s First Tuesday
series at the McNally Jackson Bookstore.

She’ll be speaking on The Myth of Voter Fraud, her great new study of the serviceable lie
that “voter fraud” is rampant among Democratic voters. That notion drove the GOP’s long
dirty war on ACORN, and has been used to push the passage of new Jim Crow laws
throughout the states.

Such laws–requiring would-be voters to produce ID’s, birth certificates, etc.–are
pending now in half the states (especially those where the GOP leadership itself was
evidently not elected). To fight off that crusade against American democracy, we need
to spread the word that this pernicious myth is nothing more than that, there being no
evidence of rampant “voter fraud” by disadvantaged citizens.

This is why Lorraine Minnite’s new book (published by Cornell University Press)
should be required reading for all good Americans, whether liberal or conservative
or none of the above.

Message from Mark: "I am a one-man operation, although assisted greatly by some volunteers, and, now and then, by people paid by others for one-time projects. There is no shortage of skilled, dedicated folks out there who want to help me. There is, however, nothing I can pay them with, unless you decide you can contribute something."
