And from Citizens for a Legitimate Government (CLG):

Cost of oil spill could exceed $14 billion 02 May 2010 The total bill related to the oil spill drifting toward Louisiana from a well operated by BP Plc in the Gulf of Mexico, could exceed $14 billion, analysts said. Since an explosion almost two weeks ago on the Deepwater Horizon rig, a disaster scenario has emerged with hundreds of thousands of gallons of crude oil spewing unchecked into the Gulf and moving inexorably northward to the coast. The responsibility for the cleanup operation lies with the owners of the well, led by 65 percent shareholder, London-based oil company BP Plc. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6412H820100502

Leaked report: Government fears Deepwater Horizon well could become unchecked gusher 30 Apr 2010 ‘The following is not public’ document –A confidential government report on the unfolding spill disaster in the Gulf makes clear the Coast Guard now fears the well could become an unchecked gusher shooting millions of gallons of oil per day into the Gulf. “The following is not public,” reads the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Emergency Response document dated April 28. “Two additional release points were found today in the tangled riser. If the riser pipe deteriorates further, the flow could become unchecked resulting in a release volume an order of magnitude higher than previously thought.” http://blog.al.com/live/2010/04/deepwater_horizon_secret_memo.html

We are all asking the same questions: Why is there a hole burned in the aluminum helideck? Posted by watcher51445 02 May 2010 Here are some pics of the burning oil rig. Note the helideck with a large size hole in it which would appear to be burned. I did a search on “can aluminum helidecks burn” and found that they do NOT burn… many tests have been done. Plus the decks are equipped with valves all around the deck to spray either water or foam should a fire occur on the deck which would automatically spray… so what are they hiding? –anon http://www.captainsvoyage-forum.net/showthread.php?p=30852

Obama: ‘Massive and potentially unprecedented disaster’ 02 May 2010 President Obama said today his administration is confronting a “massive and potentially unprecedented disaster” as a major oil slick flows toward five states on the Gulf Coast. After visiting a Coast Guard station in southern Louisiana, Obama pledged to devote as many government resources as possible to stopping and cleaning up the spill because “it would jeopardize the livelihoods of thousands of Americans” who live in the area.’ http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2010/05/obama-massive-and-potentially-unprecedented-disaster/1

Gulf Oil Spill Swiftly Balloons, Could Move East –Gulf oil spill balloons at alarming rate as sheen snakes along coast, threatens to move east 01 May 2010 A sense of doom settled over the American coastline from Louisiana to Florida on Saturday as a massive oil slick spewing from a ruptured well kept growing, and experts warned that an uncontrolled gusher could create a nightmare scenario if the Gulf Stream carries it toward the Atlantic… Efforts to stem the flow and remove oil from the surface by skimming it, burning it or spiking it with chemicals to disperse it continued with little success. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/wireStory?id=10526527
