Caveat re: Simon Johnson

From Kim Kaufman:

I like Simon Johnson as much as anyone–have been reading his blog, Baseline Scenario, for quite a while. He’s charming, well-spoken, and has been loud and clear on the right side of these issues of the finance collapse and need for real reform, etc.

Let it be noted too, however, that he’s a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics–the international arm of Mr. I-Hate-Social-Security (Peter G. Peterson), and is also tied into the Council on Foreign Relations and all those guys. As noted in this AlterNet piece, he’s also worked for the IMF, no friend to poor people.

I don’t get it. Johnson has been A+ on these economic issues, but I read him carefully.
