This is a very important report …a must read!

Ellen Theisen did a superb job of pulling all the information together and writing. Others contributed: Teresa Hommel, Pokey Andersen, Nancy Fay and myself.

Jason Leopold | An Interview With Joseph Wilson

Jason Leopold reports: “In a recent interview, former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson told me that he and his wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, both strongly feel that Vice President Dick Cheney is behind efforts to block her from discussing her work for the Central Intelligence Agency before 2002 in a memoir to be published in October titled ‘Fair Game.’ Plame Wilson’s undercover CIA identity was leaked to a handful of reporters by senior Bush administration officials. She and her husband believe the leak was in retaliation after he spoke out against the White House concerning Iraq.”

Cheney’s Mystery Visitors
By Michael A. Fletcher
Monday, June 4, 2007; A13
So you thought that maybe, just maybe, Vice President Cheney was mellowing in his controversial campaign to reestablish executive powers and prerogatives that he feels had been eroded since Watergate. Okay, so you didn’t think that. And you were right not to.

A Sept. 13, 2006, letter from Cheney’s counsel, Shannen W. Coffin, to the Secret Service that surfaced last week made clear that Cheney intends to exercise “exclusive control” of the logs showing who is visiting him or his staff at the White House compound or at the vice presidential residence at the Naval Observatory.

But the Bush administration’s policy puts the visitor records out of reach of the Freedom of Information Act and off-limits to reporters and interest groups trying to determine who is meeting with the vice president or his staff.

Rove Pick for US Attorney Resigns After Conyers Seeks Evidence from BBC
Tim Griffin, formerly right hand man to Karl Rove, resigned Thursday as US Attorney for Arkansas hours after BBC Television ‘Newsnight’ reported that Congressman John Conyers requested the network’s evidence on Griffin’s involvement in ‘caging voters.’ Greg Palast, reporting for both BBC Newsnight and Democracy Now, obtained a series of confidential emails dating from the 2004 presidential election in which the GOP operative transmitted so-called ‘caging lists’ of voters to state party leaders.

Experts have concluded the caging lists were designed for a mass challenge voters right to cast ballots. The caging lists were heavily weighted with minority voters including African-American homeless men, students and soldiers sent overseas.
