Rebuttal to Dill’s support of the HR 811 Trojan Horse
By Nancy Tobi
Dr. David Dill, long time proponent of the concept of “verified voting” (voters get to proofread computer printouts of their voting intention), recently posted an oped in support of the Holt Bill (HR 811).

However, Dr. Dill’s arguments in support of HR 811 fall apart from the moment he promotes an “it’s this or nothing” position. Every argument he makes in support of the bill is easily deconstructed when we remember we are fighting for our American democracy and not the right for corporate technologists, computer expert elitists, and bureaucrats to run our elections.
A very bright voting rights activist in California stated to me the other night, “we did away with the literacy test as a right to vote a long time ago!”

And we will fight just as hard to do away with the computer literacy test embedded in our current technoelection nightmare, embraced and supported by HR 811.

Election woes drag on
The All Campus Elections Commission deemed last week’s election legitimate; candidates say otherwise.

By Justin Horwath, Karlee Weinmann

The All Campus Elections Commission took a step out of the murky Minnesota Student Association election with a determination that last week’s results were valid.

Officials recounted the votes Wednesday and determined that a completely new election isn’t necessary.

Still, defeated candidates question a process that drew both criticism and concern on behalf of voters and candidates alike.

On Monday, ACEC adviser Ed Kim received a request for a recount from Spanish and linguistics junior Nathan Olson, the runner-up presidential candidate who lost by 123 votes.

This concerns Tova Wang, co-author of the EAC report which revealed that, contrary to the Busheviks’ abundant propaganda, there’s been no epidemic of Dem “voter fraud” in the elections of 2000, 2002, 2004 or 2006. Because that finding was, to put it mildly, inconvenient to the Bush regime (whose ongoing disenfranchisement of the US majority depends on that persistent myth), the EAC suppressed Wang’s report, and then, eventually, brought out an “improved” version.
And now they won’t even let her talk about it….

Writer/Researcher of EAC ‘Voter Fraud’ Study Says
She Has Been Gag-Ordered by the Federal Commission

Tova Andrea Wang, Co-Author of Bi-Partisan ‘Voter Fraud and Voter Intimidation Report’ for the Election Assistance Commission, Calls for an End to the Censorship in Wake of EAC’s Altering of Her Report…
In a just released statement [PDF], Tova Andrea Wang, a Democracy Fellow at the Century Foundation — co-author of a report that the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) attempted to bury — has announced that the federal commission of Presidential-appointees has refused to allow her to speak directly about her report and the action taken by the EAC to alter its findings and hide her original report from public view.
Despite the controversy surrounding the bi-partisan report and Wang’s desire to participate in the discussion as the report’s co-author, the EAC — at the heart of several controversies of late and increasing Congressional scrutiny — has barred her from speaking about it.
“It has been my desire to participate in this discussion and share my experience as a researcher, expert and co-author of the report,” Wang says in her statement. “Unfortunately, the EAC has barred me from speaking.”
Additionally, her official legal requests have been ignored by the commission….

Clint Curtis Campaign Calls for Congressional Investigation of His Contested U.S. House Race Against Tom Feeney
Says Panel Must Review ‘Hard Evidence’ Gathered Showing ’12-24% More Votes Than Stated in Official Results’
Vote-Rigging Whistleblower Turned Candidate Says All Four Challenged Races in Florida Must be Investigated by House, Not Just FL-13′s Jennings/Buchanan Race…

And speaking of Tom Feeney and Clint Curtis, the man who made a number of alarming accusations about him; including (but not limited to) a vote-rigging conspiracy in 2000, protection of an undocumented alien who pled guilty to espionage charges related to sending restricted missile chips to Communist China, and much more…

Curtis released a statement last week in regard to the contest he’s filed in the U.S. House last December under the Federal Contested Elections Act following his House race against Feeney in Florida’s 24th district last November. (The statement is posted at end of this article.)

In an exclusive BRAD BLOG interview from early March, Curtis spoke about “hard evidence” gathered by his campaign showing that his votes were under-recorded — and/or Feeney’s over-recorded — on the paperless touch-screen voting systems used in the race. Their evidence has been gathered via a precinct-by-precinct, door-to-door canvass being carried out by the campaign volunteers.

“We have now found absolutelyÅ more votes for Democrats than the official results show,” Curtis told us earlier this year. “Absolutely more votes. No trends, no guesses. More votes. That should never happen.”
The campaign’s news release claims that “In every precinct studied, the data shows that Curtis received 12-24% more votes than stated in the official result.”…

Vendors Try End Run Around New York State Election Law

Uncertified DREs to be used in Troy School Election on May 15
http://nyvv.org/blog/bolipariblog.html

In a breaking crisis in New York State, the City School Board of Troy, NY approved the use of uncertified DREs for the May 15, 2007 School Board Elections.

In a brazen attempt to have their uncertified DREs used in New York State, Liberty Election Systems and their Dutch partner Nedap made the School District of Troy an offer they couldn’t refuse – use of 10 of their DREs in the upcoming School District Election at no cost to the district. Unfortunately, the Liberty DRE has not completed New York State testing or met any of the State’s regulatory standards, and is not certified for use in the State by the New York State Board of Elections.

Dutch Technicians to Oversee DREs in US Election

Liberty Election Systems is a NYS corporation marketing DREs manufactured and supported by the Dutch company Nedap. Liberty doesn’t do tech stuff; they only handle sales and marketing. Nedap’s Dutch engineers provide the technical expertise; designing, writing and supporting all software and hardware. In NYS Nedap engineers have provided all technical oversight and support of the Liberty DRE. But the election on May 15th isn’t a demo, it’s a real election with an $88.3 million dollar budget at stake. The technical advisors running the LibertyVote/Nedap DREs on Troy’s Election Day will be foreign citizens. Do we really want foreign nationals running voting machines in American elections?

Dear Mark Crispin Miller,
Please throw your spotlight on the trial and forthcoming sentencing of Rev. Edward Pinkney of Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Rev. Pinkney’s case is fraught with issues of great national importance: the manipulation of voter fraud allegations; theft of public property through political bribery; blatant racism; judicial corruption (involving a Bush II appointee); violation of jury selection standards; and so on.
The story is basically quite simple. Rev. Pinckney successfully managed a recall election, in order to block the corporate theft of Benton Harbor’s waterfront. He was then targeted on charges of “voter fraud,” and was tried TWICE for that alleged crime. The trial was joke. The sentencing hearing is set for May 14.
The Pan-African News wire has carefully followed the story. See its detailed backgrounder here, and also here.
My own interest arises from six years of volunteer effort to make election reform issues visible and comprehensible to Michigan voters, many of whom have been lulled into somnolence by the belief that “opti-scan” ballots protect them from fraudulent counts. I learned about the Pinkney case when a friend forwarded this article to me: http://www.wpactivists.org/news.asp. (I posted it on my own Web
site, address below.)

Please do what you can to publicize this case. My sense is that the national scandal of the AG firings points directly to election-related scandals within each district.

Thanks for your attention,
