Bush budget scraps 9,790 border patrol agents –Bush uses law’s escape clause to drop funding for new homeland security force 09 Feb 2005 Officially approved by President [sic] Bush on Dec. 17 after extensive bickering in Congress, the National Intelligence Reform Act included the requirement to add 10,000 border patrol agents in the five years beginning with 2006. Roughly 80 percent of the agents were to patrol the southern U.S. border from Texas to California… But Bush’s proposed 2006 budget, revealed Monday, funds only 210 new border agents.

Official: Thousands of troops will head to border –Bush to outline plan in Monday night Oval Office address 15 May 2006 President [sic] Bush will call for the deployment of “less than 10,000” National Guard troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to serve a “supportive role” in the mission to keep people from entering the United States illegally, a senior administration official said Monday.

No Comments to “Bear this in mind when he speaks tonight”

  • Is it paranoid of me to suspect that what Bush is really doing is testing how complacently people will accept martial law?

  • No. There’s always an ulterior agenda. Paranoia? Nope, these days there’s the wary, the unwary, and little else.

And like I keep saying, don’t build that wall around us, some of us may likely be in a big hurry to get the hell outta here in the not too distant future!

Message from Mark: "I am a one-man operation, although assisted greatly by some volunteers, and, now and then, by people paid by others for one-time projects. There is no shortage of skilled, dedicated folks out there who want to help me. There is, however, nothing I can pay them with, unless you decide you can contribute something."
