Moscow Times, March 3 2006

Two weeks ago, an obscure, unelected, Republican-appointed official in California decided the future of the world. That future — at least for the next several years — will be an accelerating nightmare of war, corruption, repression, atrocity and terror. That’s because the loyal apparatchik has, with the stroke of a pen, guaranteed the perpetuation of the Bush faction in power in 2008 and beyond.

One of the few certainties in modern U.S. politics is that no Democrat can win the presidency without carrying California. Thanks to the Electoral College system set up by the Founding Oligarchs to keep the low-born rabble from voting directly for president, the big haul of California’s electoral votes is crucial for Democrats to offset the multitude of small, sparsely populated states that reliably vote Republican. Bagging California doesn’t guarantee Democratic victory, but without it, the cliffhanger electoral counts in the goosed elections of 2000 and 2004 wouldn’t even have been close.

Thus, the sudden, hugger-mugger decision by California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson to override the objections of his own experts and certify the eminently hackable voting machines of the politically partisan firm, Diebold, for use throughout the state means, quite simply, that the fix is in for 2008. It doesn’t matter who the Democrats run — Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, George Clooney or Jesus H. Christ in an Uncle Sam suit. It won’t make a bit of difference. California is lost, the presidency is lost and the Bushists are in — already. It’s over.

  • And if California is a blue state once again in 2008, will this conspiracy theory be officially de-bunked?? Huh? Oh well, I know of some people who still believe the Y2K bug actually occurred. They can hang out with this guy.

  • You’re saying that Diebold’s certification there is a conspiracy theory? Are you choosing to ignore the evidence of past corruption, of potential future corruption, given Diebold’s record and openly partisan CEOs?

Refusal of a paper trail sounds similar to Bush/Cheney claiming we won’t testify UNDER OATH, nor will we testify seperate from one another.

Or are you saying that it’s sound practice to have a few private, partisan corporations in charge of tallying the votes of a supposed “democracy?”

“Anon” enjoys posting here only because, unlike other well-worn “lefty” forums/blogs, there aren’t nearly as many here who will hand his ignorant BS back to him on a plate, while telling him to please choke on it.

So, you know some people who still believe the Y2K bug occurred? Oddly enough, and speaking of wacky “conspiracy theories,” I still know some people who believe a handful of Saudis, armed with boxcutters, thwarted a trillion dollar defense system, and flew a 757 into the most insanely secured structure on the planet, thereby creating a sixteen-foot wide hole in its wall without umpteen gallons of fuel burning the lawn, and without leaving any wreckage. Talk about believing in some wild shit!!!

Saying “the terrorists” did it is like saying the Easter Bunny is responsible — that’s how absurdly fucking ridiculous you sheep sound, a fact that is reinforced every time such Pollyanna attempt to elaborate on anything.

Also I believe the number of the supposed “hijackers” proven to be alive today is now up to nine. Hell, that was even reported on the BBC …or is that another “conspiracy theory?”

You see, anonymous, if millions of people believe a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing.

  • Hey DD, one of those people who claimed that the Y2K bug occurred is the host of “Ground Zero” radio. He also claims that the Saddam Hussein figure now on trial in Iraq is a fake. It’s amazing. You even throw out another conspiracy theory about the hijackers still being alive. That is as crackpot-like as the lie about all the Jews in the WTC being warned ahead of time about 9/11. And the following point is still ignored: Unless there are dramatic changes and trends within the next two years in the Golden State, California will not vote Republican in 2008. And that will send this comrade’s conspiracy theory down into the toilet where it belongs.

  • From BBC:

    Hijack ‘suspects’ alive and well

Waleed Al Shehri left the US a year ago, he says

Another of the men named by the FBI as a hijacker in the suicide attacks on Washington and New York has turned up alive and well.

The identities of four of the 19 suspects accused of having carried out the attacks are now in doubt.

Saudi Arabian pilot Waleed Al Shehri was one of five men that the FBI said had deliberately crashed American Airlines flight 11 into the World Trade Centre on 11 September.

His photograph was released, and has since appeared in newspapers and on television around the world.

    Hijacking suspects
Flight 175: Marwan Al-Shehhi, Fayez Ahmed, Mohald Alshehri, Hamza Alghamdi and Ahmed Alghamdi

Flight 11: Waleed M Alshehri, Wail Alshehri, Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz Alomari and Satam Al Suqami

Flight 77: Khalid Al-Midhar, Majed Moqed, Nawaq Alhamzi, Salem Alhamzi and Hani Hanjour

Flight 93: Ahmed Alhaznawi, Ahmed Alnami, Ziad Jarrahi and Saeed Alghamdi

Now he is protesting his innocence from Casablanca, Morocco.

He told journalists there that he had nothing to do with the attacks on New York and Washington, and had been in Morocco when they happened. He has contacted both the Saudi and American authorities, according to Saudi press reports.

He acknowledges that he attended flight training school at Daytona Beach in the United States, and is indeed the same Waleed Al Shehri to whom the FBI has been referring.

But, he says, he left the United States in September last year, became a pilot with Saudi Arabian airlines and is currently on a further training course in Morocco.

    Mistaken identity

Abdulaziz Al Omari, another of the Flight 11 hijack suspects, has also been quoted in Arab news reports.

Abdelaziz Al Omari ‘lost his passport in Denver’
He says he is an engineer with Saudi Telecoms, and that he lost his passport while studying in Denver.

Another man with exactly the same name surfaced on the pages of the English-language Arab News.

The second Abdulaziz Al Omari is a pilot for Saudi Arabian Airlines, the report says.

Meanwhile, Asharq Al Awsat newspaper, a London-based Arabic daily, says it has interviewed Saeed Alghamdi.

Khalid Al-Midhar may also be alive

He was listed by the FBI as a hijacker in the United flight that crashed in Pennsylvania.

And there are suggestions that another suspect, Khalid Al Midhar, may also be alive.

FBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged on Thursday that the identity of several of the suicide hijackers is in doubt.

A well sourced site w/numerous links:

    ..that’s .com/911/

Or Google 9/11 hijackers alive, and you’ll find plenty.

The difference is, while I personally can’t say that I know what happened, I do know that there are way too many implausibilities and inconsistencies, coupled with a track record of fabrication and deceit that has resulted in the subversion of our constitution, and mass slaughter in the mid east-with more on the, in short, a rather obvious *motive*.

And how did they have this neatly compiled list of “hijackers” all set for media instruction from the git-go? You say it’s crackpot conspiracy theory, as some theories surely are…but that alone doesn’t nullify every “theory” that’s unfamiliar to the mainstream due to 24/7 propaganda.

A lot of such “theorizing” is actually needed “institutional analysis.” The more evidence and unanswered questions that are amassed, what was once merely theoretical becomes real possibility, and with yet more, the theory becomes a probability.

Enter the alarming degree of America’s psychological avoidance.

On a personal level, anon, what makes you so certain that these powerful people you slavishly support and defend actually give a shit about you…?…aside from relying on you as a chump who enables and encourages their crimes against humanity?

  • I figure they care about me a least a little bit more than the protestors who wave signs that say “F### Bush” and then flip me off while I am engaging in my 1st Amendement rights as a counter-protestor. You think those bong-gurgling chumps care about me? At all? That probability you were talking about is what is bubbling up inside that bong.

  • This makes me cry. We are, none of us, doing enough and yet what is there to do? There are daark forces at work on every front, murderous, fundamentalist forces, east and west. Where is the battle to be fought?

I’ll tell you, until we all decide to take a Tuesday off in protest of this administration’s policies — not a Saturday when we had off anyway, but a Tuesday when we push no buttons, send no email, make no calls, issue no statements, sweep no floors, NOTHING, NADA– until we demonstrate our power to ourselves as well as to our enemies. it’s true that the people united can never be defeated. i’m hoping this interweb sic thing will prove essential to the effort.

meantime don’t even have even a dream of a presidential candidate.

  • “I figure they care about me a least a little bit more than the protestors who wave signs that say “F### Bush””

You’ve figured wrong; as where those elite whose collective ass you graciously kneel and smooch would have you snuffed in the blink of an eye if you happened to be standing in the way of them getting from point A to point B, the protestors don’t wield such power and likely wouldn’t resort to violence unless push came to shove.

Re-read my prior reponse to you, and then your own: notice how you completely sidestepped every point I made?

And yet, according to you sheople, us “lefties” are the ones “guilty” of relying on “emotion” instead of “facts” in determining our views? It’s okay, I understand why many right wingers aren’t very comfortable with the full spectrum of emotion..two of the most basic being that of solidarity and concern for the welfare of others, something that those who align themselves with right wing ideology haven’t any concern for.

So, in keeping with your assertion, FBI Director Robert Mueller is likely a “crackpot” who spends too much time tokin’ on the double bubble? Ye gads n’ gadzooks man!!!…double bubble BIG TROUBLE!!!

You don’t know much about how people work, what makes them tick, do you, anon? I’m likewise guessing you haven’t known many pot smokers, and, just like the wide variety of personalities that are drawn to activism, you base your views of either on typical up-tighty-righty stereotypes.

Do you really believe that most of the people critical of the Bushco and of US imperial policy are merely “play acting” one side versus the other a la sports mentality within a pop culture prescription/affectation, and aren’t genuinely concerned and terrified of where the butchers will lead our race?

How do you explain so many republicans abandoning ship? How do you explain former Reagan/Bush admin/crooks admitting that they believe 9/11 was an inside job?

Those protestors are right, anon, and they’re justly concerned and pissed off that so few have the wherewithal to exclaim that the emperor indeed has no clothes, and that so many can sit comfortably within arrogance, deceit and ignorance at a time when everything is on the line. That energy has to go somewhere, preferably channeled appropriately, and soon…as Chomsky is really sounding the warning sirens in his recent talks, “we are creating a man made Armageddon.”

Or, in keeping with your bong-a-thon analogy, the late Hunter Thompson wrote a lot about the Bushco, claiming it will all go down just like in the book of Revelations: “Big darkness coming. Count on it”

Vocalion…it’s okay. Here, have a cyber hug :)

I know exactly what you mean. Chomsky, when asked if he ever gets depressed and burnt out by facing the grim shit he does on a daily basis, openly admitted that yes, he despairs every evening. But, you go on and do what you can do. What other choice is there?

The toughest aspect of any of this is getting people the information and facts for them to understand that they’re living within systems of oppression and domination. They’re raised within a “that’s just how it is” concession, which encourages indifference, which means less interference for power to deal with.

The people will revolt, but it requires time for decades worth of lies and propaganda to dissipate. Once it does though – and everyone “wakes up” for different reasons – the picture becomes unpleasantly clear, and will be ferocious. Or, our species will be wiped from the globe.

I agree that we need solidarity and mass protest. However, the brainwashed majority still[need to]believe that they’re “in charge” because, afterall, they press buttons every four years, and for them, that alone equals “democracy.” So it makes the idea of revolting against their government seem sort of like revolting against themselves …they stammer and search for answers, and then usually give up, crack open a brewskie, switch on sports for their fix of American Gladiotor bullshit, or head for the nearest shopping mausoleum.

People united cannot be defeated…true enough, which is why – if you study it – the early twentieth century planners devised necessary ways of manipulating the public mind to ensure that the people would support power’s murderous lies.

However, at least there are many in prominent positions with a much larger forum and capacity to raise awareness Mark, for example. So, again, what choice is there? Skyward in triumph…

  • No. I figured right. These people with the really vile protest signs – F### Bush, Kill Bush – are thugs. Pure and simple. I’m lucky I only got flipped off; Some pro-Bush counter-protestors got the crap kicked out of them by anarchist cowards back on Inaguaration Day 2005. And this point is still being ignored: The Portland Trailblazers are more likely to win the NBA title than California is of voting GOP in 2008. This theory is laughable.
